Our History

Here at Sterling United Federal Credit Union we are humble to our history. The Credit Union originated in 1956, with the initial purpose to serve employees of Sterling Brewery and their families. Amusingly enough, it all began in the brewery locker room, where employee’s checks could be cashed! We’ve come a long way over the years, growing to serve several employee groups before becoming a Community Chartered Credit Union; serving anyone who lives, works, worships, volunteers, or attends school in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, or Henderson County and their families.

Our Main Office remains at 1330 West Franklin Street, near the location where Sterling Brewery once stood. We have two additional member serving offices and one operation center. Our other member serving offices are located on Evansville’s East Side at 5727 Vogel Road and at 1212 St George Road just off N Highway 41 in the campus of Atlas Van Lines (Near the Airport).

Our Mission

Our mission at Sterling is and always has been simply to provide our community with quality, personal, and affordable financial services, while staying humble to our history.
